THE TOUGH GUY TALKS TOUGH
Prickly. Tough as nails. No nonsense. A manly man. Is it Tommy Lee Jones, or the character he's playing?
In most cases it's both. The 56-year-old actor, who plays a white man living amongst the Apache people of the American southwest in The Missing, is a tough-guy actor who's made his mark playing tough-guy roles. We compiled a small sampling of some of Mr. Jones's thick-skinned cinematic alter-egos from the past decade, with a sample quote from each.

VOLCANO (1997) - Mike Roark, crusty emergency services director. "You don't like my plan? That's good. Give me a another plan, but don't tell me we're backing out!"
MEN IN BLACK ( 1997) - Agent K, deadpan alien hunter. "People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it."
COBB (1994) - Ty Cobb, loathed baseball legend. "(Babe Ruth) could run OK for a fat man."
THE CLIENT (1994) - "Reverend" Roy Foltrigg, hard-nosed Southern lawyer. "I can assure you, you have been an even larger pain in the ass."
THE FUGITIVE (1993) - Sam Gerard, hard-driving U.S. marshal. "Don't ever argue with the big dog, because the big dog is always right."
