In Natural Born Killers, Jack Palance was to play the part of Warden McCluskey. When Palance read the role he said it was shocking and horrifying and he would not do it. Oliver Stone was left at the last minute with no one for that role so he asked his good buddy Tommy Lee Jones to do him a favor and Tommy Lee jumped in to help Stone at the last minute.
